Orwak helps the Robinson’s Motor Group drive down the cost of waste

Orwak, world leaders in the supply, installation and service of compactors and balers, has helped Robinson’s Motor Group, a busy VW showroom and service centre, to save over £2,500 at one site alone by installing an Orwak combined waste baler and compactor.

Robinson’s has been able to make these incredible savings by baling and compacting their waste, thereby reducing the number of waste collections for which they pay. During a trial period, Robinson’s were able to reduce their general waste collections by more than half and have also dramatically reduced the cost of disposing of their waste, as a local recycling firm is now collecting the cardboard waste free of charge. The trial period, at the Norwich branch, has proved so successful that the Robinson’s management team had no hesitation in expanding the trial to its other sites.

In addition to saving them money, the ability to easily segregate and monitor their recycled materials has also aided Robinson’s by allowing them to clearly detail their responsibilities under the Producer Responsibility Obligations (Packaging Waste) Regulations 2005. As Ian McDonald, After-Sales Manager states “ Not only have we been able to slash our waste bills, the Orwak baler also means that we can recycle all of our cardboard and prove our compliance with the Packaging Regulations. To put it simply, my boss is very happy!”
